Matthew Martino born 27 October 1992 is a British Entrepreneur, Film Producer and Author. Educated at Shenfield High School in Brentwood , Martino has always held a passion for writing – He has always focused on educational writing and research. His first book Lets Fly which was published by DM Aviation was well received by pilots and aviation enthusiasts around the world. During his early years Martino showed all the qualities required to maintain proven success.

Tell us a little about yourself and your background
I’m Matthew Martino, 20 years of age, Zimbabwean born. I guess my background is mainly in the aviation industry where I have been creating and renovating resources for training and current pilots. I have also been blessed enough to make it onto a few films and furthermore produce some.

 Q. As an Entrepreneur, Film Producer and bestselling Author what challenges have you faced?
I have faced all sorts of challenges but to mention a few, the first challenge was dealing with people telling me I can’t do it or saying my manuscripts would never be published. When I made the first draft for Lets Fly I was actually told I was wasting my time, but I still went for it. In my acting endeavors I found at times being rejected for roles for reasons like I didn't have the look or having refused to do something out of my comfort zone.

 Q. Can you tell us briefly what the book titled ‘Go For it’ is about?
Well ‘Go For It’ is an educational manual for aspiring entrepreneurs and established ones as well, it’s about the basic principles people need, to be able to succeed in business. The advice and points in the book are a learning curve from my business mistakes and just want others to learn from it.

 Q. How do you balance it all, Film producing, Aviation training, Acting etc.?
I struggle to find a balance at times, but my all-time favourite has been managing my time effectively to fit everything in and working with understanding people who can negotiate schedules. So if I need to fly at 2pm and I’m on set producing a film, I can get one of my assistants to step in. My phone plays a huge key to my organisation as reminders and alerts keep coming through.

 Q. What are your proudest moments to date in your careers?
My proudest moments was when my Manager rang me to say Lets Fly was made a Best Seller, It came as a shock, though I had worked hard to market the book.

 Q. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Next 5 years is a tough one, I often look at the next hours and try to get through them .The big picture I guess is that in five years I want to have completed off my degree which I’m currently studying part time and hopefully have a lot more films out

 Q. What projects are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on ‘Ortega and his enemies’ a feature film featuring some very talented cast and it’s an honor working with them, I’m also filming additional scenes for documentary Lets Fly which is quite interesting as I’m learning new things everyday about aviation.

  Q. Where can people buy your books from?
My books can be purchased from Waterstones, Barnes & Noble , Amazon ,eBay and Lets Fly is available at most aviation bookstores.

 Q. What advice do you have for aspiring pilots?
My advice for aspiring pilots is to keep pushing, be strong and don’t let anything or anyone stop you. I have been in situations where I've had to choose between a holiday and flying lessons – being a strong aspiring pilot requires making such sacrifices and being able to put the job first.
